Air Freight Shipping
According to the specific directives of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Security Administration, (TSA), any individual or business which wants to ship items weighing over 16 ounces via commercial air carriers is required to become a "Known Shipper". The TSA has determined that due to the terrorist attack of September 11th, greater security measures are required in the transportation of Air Cargo. Hence Emergency Amendment - 49 CFR 1548.7(d) directs all DAC’s and IAC`s to immediately implement the procedural changes noted above. How do I Become a "Known Shipper"? To become a Known Shipper, a Known Shipper Application must be submitted prior to shipping by air. Once the submitted application is approved, we will contact you to arrange an inspection of your residence or place of business. There will be a minimum, non-refundable fee between $75-$125 for this inspection. (This fee is mileage-based and may be higher) All site visits will be in person, on the shipper's premises, as required. Our On-Site Verifications are documented using the FAA Known Shipper Re-verification form.
This service is compliant with TSA - FAA Security Directive 49 CFR 1548.7(d). Once you are approved as a known shipper, packages or freight weighing over 16 ounces may be shipped on any commercial air carrier.
